May 31

Starting tomorrow my adventure starts its 30 day countdown. Within the past few weeks I have started to appreciate the problem based learning system here. I think thats due in large part to the research I've started doing for my Globalization and Identity paper. The concept of problem based learning makes much more sense when its put in contrast to traditional university systems, and now that I understand more of how it should be used as a learning tool, I think I'm getting much more out of my last two papers.

The weather here has gotten insanely beautiful. 70's and 80's for the past few weeks, and ridiculously sunny. The sun rises at around 5am and sets completely after 11pm. The flowers and trees are in full bloom, and there are no more snowsuit babies running around. Instead they've taken to wearing shorts and sandals...running around with icecream cones. Looking every bit as adorable as when they were in snowsuits.

I had a Lovely 22nd birthday last week. My good friend and neighbor Ronni made me a mini chocolate lava cake, and he, Kristian and I stayed up until 12 to ring in the day properly. :-) That night Chelsea, her father, and I went out for a birthday dinner. She and I share the same birthday, so it was a very special occasion and totally wonderful to have so much American interaction. Mom sent me a package with some birthday cake mix in it, which was a special treat. It was all together a lovely day, and the first birthday that I actually felt older on. Ruvi thinks I just feel wiser, and maybe she's right.

Today I'm going to check out a flee market with Ronni!
I'm excited to go and see a new place. :-)
