This is why my life in Aalborg Rocks! I have all weekend to do things like traipse around Viking ruins chasing sheep. Its great. I made an informative video about the ruins as well, but the wind drowned out the dialog so the only video making the "blogspot" cut was this one. :-)


Here's the informative part in type: Lindholm Hoje is the name of the site, and researchers have excavated cremation graves and a large part of the settlement here. The only reason this site is in existence today is because in the later Iron Age it was covered by sand which presumably kept the stones from being removed in connection with plowing. The burial site was used for about 600 years, AD 400- AD 1000 and there are around 700 cremation graves on the site.
